Expo Hall at Summer in the City
At the heart of Summer in the City is our Exhibition Hall. Click through to read more about our brand new additions; a Gaming Stage, a Fashion and Beauty Stage, and a Lifestyle Zone!
The Expo Hall is also home to dozens of exhibitors and stands from our sponsors, with all kinds of fun things to do! Make sure you check them out and say thanks from us for helping to make Summer in the City possible!
As well as these new elements, the Expo Hall will host the following areas that returning SitC-goers will remember:
*NEW* Gaming Stage
In 2017, for the first time Summer in the City will have a dedicated Gaming Stage, where top YouTube gamers will battle it out in gaming tournaments, take questions from fans, and talk all things Gaming in a variety of discussion panels. The event has ramped up its offering to gaming fans in recent years, but we’re taking it to a whole new level with an entire stage focused purely on Gamers!
The new stage will be the focal point of a larger Gaming Zone, which will include various hands-on exhibitions, where attendees can check out the latest games and apps, do battle in an eSports game, or try for a high score in the event’s old-school arcade!
*NEW* Fashion and Beauty Stage
Fashion-conscious festival-goers will be able to get tips from live ‘Get Ready With Me’ sessions, hear from their fave creators in Q&As and discussion panels, and check out the latest looks as top YouTubers hit the catwalk in a daily fashion show.
There will be a wider Fashion and Beauty Zone for attendees to explore, offering them a chance to try out new products, and get a closer look at the clothes and jewellery on show.
*NEW* Lifestyle Zone
Want to see a cooking demo? Take part in a workout session? Watch some live painting? The new Lifestyle Zone will bring all of Summer in the City 2017’s cooking and baking, health and fitness, sport and art content together into a single dedicated area to ensure you don’t miss a thing.
Creator Village is the place to go for all of your YouTuber merchandise! Many of the YouTubers on our line up have tables with their merch on sale throughout the weekend, and most of them spend plenty of time at their tables personally, so they can meet their fans and sign the merch. The scheduled meet and greets are far from the only opportunity to meet your favourite YouTubers, so be sure to check out Creator Village in 2017!
The Funfair has been a resounding success since its addition to Summer in the City in 2015! You can bet that we’ll be bringing back some rides this year.
Our Craft Fair has become a staple of Summer in the City – head on over to browse through stalls from talented independent artists, designers and craftspeople! There will be paintings and posters, clothing and accessories, comics and zines, music and more!
Open Mic Dome
The Open Mic Dome, where anyone can get their 15 minutes of fame! You can sign up on the day to take part, whether you’d like to perform music, comedy, poetry, dance… Just do your thing!
The dome also has some scheduled activities alongside the open mic; last year saw the introduction of the SitC Poetry Slam, and the Women on YouTube Workshop, both of which will be returning in 2017!
If your parents are holding you back, drop them off in the Adult Crèche, where they can relax with a coffee and a newspaper, and you can head off to explore the event!
